Diamond Creek Falls

Sunday, January 13, 2013
Leader: Jim Pierce
SShoe: 5 miles, 450 ft (Moderate)

Ten Tenacious Trekkers braved temperatures and icy roads for a glorious day snowshoeing. We changed the destination from Bechtel shelter to Salt Creek and Diamond Creek Falls. Blue skies and bright sun made the snow covered trees sparkle. The trail was broken all the way, but there was plenty of eight inch powder test out the snow shoes. Many animals had been jumping around in the powder. We tried to identify the tracks. The waterfalls and streams were bounded by beautiful ice sheets. In all, it was a great day in an idyllic winter wonderland.
