Craig Lake

Thursday, July 12, 2012
Leader: Jim Whitfield
Hike: 6.5 miles, 1000 ft (Moderate)

Eight hikers hit the trail under a sunny sky with a nice breeze blowing. The breeze stayed with us making for good hiking and helping to keep the mosquitos at a bearable level. From the parking lot, to the PCT connector, the trail is unmaintained and in poor shape. Lots of blowdowns from the fire. No freeway hiking here. Made the lake for lunch with a few excursions through thick brush when the leader was unable to find the small connector trails. The views were great with 3 Fingered Jack nearly in your face. A couple of hardy hikers went for a short swim. Brrrrr! The trip to the trailhead and home was uneventful.

Members: Jim Whitfield, Lamonte Smith, Janet Jacobsen, Brad Bennett, Chris Stockdale. Nonmembers: Linda Eaton, Pat Boleyn, David Reinhard.
