Five of us met at the 52nd Willamette Trailhead to work on the Tie Trail. Larry Dunlap had a McLeod and a handsaw. Janet Jacobsen and Jane Dods had rakes. I loaned one of my rakes to Joanne Ledet and my pruners to Alex Lockfield. We also carried lemonade, Italian Soda, and muffins! The first 1.3 miles was in good shape due to three previous Obsidian work parties. At the Tie Trail intersection where a fallen tree had hammered the trail, we were amazed to see that the Eugene Parks and Open Space staff had already hauled in gravel and rocks and made the needed repairs. This is on top of cutting and removing so many fallen trees. In 2 ½ hours, we were able to brush up most of the Tie Trail. A special thanks to Larry who handled the heavy McLeod to remove slough and work on drainage issues. The blue skies and the wildflower display were a bonus. Two of us had the time to hike up to the top of the Butte where we picked up several plastic bottles.Members: Jim Whitfield, Janet Jacobsen, Joanne Ledet, Larry Dunlap. Nonmembers: Alex Lockfeld.
