Trestle Creek Falls

Sunday, June 10, 2012
Leader: Tom Musselwhite
Hike: 4 miles, 1000 ft (Easy)

Reports of mosquitoes prompted me to call Participants the night before our hike and remind everyone to bring their favorite bug juice. Much to our relief, we discovered no significant problem with the voracious insects. Siskiyou Iris were abundant, rhodys were in bloom, and the trail was in decent repair showing signs of recent trail maintenance activity. However, the trail to the lower falls was still blocked by at least one large tree, so lunchtime came a little early. After a leisurely lunch sprinkled with pleasant conversation we hiked the final mile back to the trailhead and headed home. Our most compatible group of 9 consisted of 5 nonmembers and 4 members.

Members: Tom Musselwhite, Jyoti Naik, Penny McAvoy, Sam Tracer. Nonmembers: Russell Evans, Patricia Hoenshell, Amity Cleary-Evans, Judy Parker, Trent Suing.
