Nine dedicated hikers left Eugene in a steady drizzle, looking forward to enjoying the fall colors, unique geology and magical beauty of the hike to come. The wetness seemed to magnify the colors - bright yellow Big Leaf Maples creating golden archways over our heads and contrasting with the deep aquamarine of Tamolich Pool - with orange and red ground plants and yellow green Vine Maples adding further color to the scene. Showers occurred intermittently, creating a lovely patter on the leaf canopy above . By the time we reached the three falls, the sun was peeking through the clouds, making the water glisten and sparkle. Everyone was delighted to enjoy the day, in spite of the wetness.Members: Becky Lipton, Don Cross, Tom Woxell, Nancy Whitfield, Lynn Meacham. Nonmembers: Gabrielle Lent, Holger Krentz, Karen Lally, Barbara Kay Cosby.
