Long Tom Grange

Friday, April 20, 2012
Leader: Patricia Esch
Bike: 20 miles, 250 ft (Easy)

Big clouds with patches of blue and sun ping pongged nine riders from cool to warm. Along the way we saw wild iris, red tailed hawks, wild turkeys, a few camas in bloom and yes, there were still daffodils. The traffic varied from none, to a big truck with trailer that insisted on passing within inches of us despite the oncoming car(no bike lane on the infamous Territorial Hwy) scaring some of us off the edge of the pavement. We spent some time talking through the moment, and then rode on through more beauty and a warm lunch in the sun at the Grange. With the hills behind us, we breezed back to the Safeway parking lot in Junction City.
