One hundred percent wonderful was Jorry's remark at the end of our hike. Was it the weather that made it so? It was drizzling as we introduced ourselves at the trail head, but soon stopped as we set off along the beach and no further showers bothered us, but the skies remained cloudy. Was it the cookies? Lunch at the lighthouse included an offering of homemade chocolate chip oatmeal cookies from Diane and a Pepperidge Farm chocolate assortment from Pat (the homemade ones were favored). Jorry offered us huge, decadent chocolate covered shortbreads when we got back to our cars. Or was it the participants? Nine Obsidians drove from Eugene and, on arriving at the meeting point, met up with two other Obsidians who were spending the holiday weekend at the coast and two non-Obsidians who live in Florence. Everyone mingled, shared stories, and enjoyed the loop trail along the coast and through the forest. Yes, it was the participants - they were one hundred percent wonderful.Members: Pat Soussan, Jyoti Naik, Norma Bengiat, Anne Bonine, Don Cross, Becky Lipton, Diane Schechter, Yuan Hopkins, Patricia Mac Afee, Jorry Rolfe, Daniele Delaby.
