It was a cold morning in Eugene, but by the time we reached the Wildlife Refuge parking lot, we were blessed with the warmth of the sun. At mile seven my navigator began singing "Strawberry Fields Forever", as we cycled along fields of vine ripened Oregon strawberries, nothing better. Approaching the Buena Vista Ferry we noticed the river was moving at around 20,000 cubic feet per second (CFS). We boarded, paid our $1 fare and were grateful having the ferry tethered to a cable as we crossed the Willamette River. Shortly thereafter we were back at our car after three hours.Members: Richard Hughes, Lana Lindstrom.
