Moon Mt., Willamette Heights Park and Mt. Baldy
Our three hikes beginning via car provided us with interesting landscape perspectives of Eugene and Springfield. Everyone chimed in with questions about natural features and structures. “What is that?” was the most frequently asked question. Fortunately there were people on the hike who knew the answers. Our first hike, Moon Mountain, gave us a great view of the confluence of the Middle Fork and the Coast Fork of Willamette River. From Willamette Heights Park and on the Mt. Baldy Trail, we again viewed the confluence. We saw a few trillium just beginning to bud on the Baldy Trail. The trip took 3 ½ hours and we even had some sun! Moshe was hoping we would stop for coffee. Next time, I will factor in time for a coffee stop at Washburne Café.Members: Janet Jacobsen, Norma Bengiat, Dick Hildreth, John Moser, Moshe Rapaport, Noy Rathakette.
