Eight stalwarts braved soggy weather to hike up Hardesty Mountain via the Eula Ridge trail. The leader delivered the promised steep, muddy trail with snow for the last half mile. The forest greens were accented by trilliums, Calypso orchids, yellow violets, wild geraniums and, down low, bleeding hearts and oxalis. Grouse serenaded us part of the way. The ascent took just over three hours. At the top, we ate lunch in the rain. The descent took 2.5 hours. It was a wonderful outing with great company … and a good workout.Members: Jim Pierce, Marianne Camp, Elle Weaver, Daphne James, Danneille Harris, Chris Stockdale, Brian Popowsky.
