Because forecasts predicted considerable avalanche danger above 3,000’, we decided to ski into Berley Lakes instead of our scheduled trip. We were ¾ mile up the Old Skyline Trail before a cold, bitter wind and an unbroken trail convinced us to turn back and give the trails at Ray Benson Snopark a try. At 11:30 AM, we started out on the North Loop Trail. We passed a couple that was breaking trail and Sue led the way for the final mile or so to the Blowout Shelter. After taking a break for lunch, we continued a clockwise loop and returned to the snopark by 2:00 PM.Members: Brian Hamilton, Chris Stockdale, Charlie Van Deusen, Sue Wolling.
