Gold Lake

Saturday, January 22, 2011
Leader: Scott Hovis
SShoe: 5 miles, 300 ft (Easy)

The snow was poor, hard packed. But the sunny day & warm temp was nice. Recently the blue diamonds we follow on the trail were improved. When snow conditions are poor it is often hard to cross the creek going from upper Marilyn Lake to Lower Marilyn Lake. We had to cross over a log. Doable, but a bridge needs to be put in. We noticed an ancient bridge that had fallen into the bridge & was unusable. It should be replaced. We had lunch at the Gold Lake shelter. Plenty of camp robbers to go around. (Gray Jays)
