The hike started with chilly temperatures (near 40) and a steady drizzle the first 2 miles. We saw a wide variety of waterfowl along the route: Canadian geese, egret, great blue heron, mallard ducks, and what I think was a pair of buffleheads. Thankfully, the drizzle disappeared by the time we reached the Booth-Kelly trailhead and the temperature warmed up. After lunch at the Quarry Creek picnic area we were treated to a pair of coyotes in the field north of the bike path.Members: Kathy Randall, Darko Sojak, Daphne James, Marguerite Cooney, David Lodeesen.
