Eugene Mural Walk

Sunday, December 3, 2017
Leader: Mark Hougardy
Hike: 3 miles (Easy)

Over the past months in Eugene, Oregon, a number of building-sized murals have started appearing – some almost overnight. Nineteen Obsidians participated on a 2.5-mile walk through town to learn more about these fantastic artistic expressions. The murals are part of the 20×21 project, an initiative to create 20 or more world-class outdoor murals in Eugene between now and the 2021 IAAF World Championships. After the walk, some of us enjoyed a tasty lunch at Sizzle Pie for pizza and salad.

Members: Mark Hougardy, Steve Adey, Clara Emlen, Kathie Carpenter, David Strutin, Lana Lindstrom, Vicky Hanson, David Cooper, Carla Cooper, Chris Shuraleff, Nancy Whitfield, Janet Jacobsen, Leah Firth, Yuan Hopkins, Jack Loe, Julie Barnas, David Lodeesen, Marguerite Cooney. Nonmembers: Janet Whitesides, Jane Allen, Chloe Allen.
