Bingo Lake

Sunday, August 27, 2017
Leader: David Cooper
Hike: 6.2 miles, 350 ft (Moderate)

An excellent way to escape the smoke at lower elevations. We had blue skies, but we spent a lot of time looking down at the huckleberries. And of course we did more than just look at them. Starting from Shadow Bay it was an easy walk to the South Waldo Shelter. In another half mile we entered the Waldo wilderness and headed up the High Divide Trail. In took a little while to get to Bingo Lake as we crossed downed trees and ate huckleberries. Bingo lake as a nice spot for lunch and more berry picking. Some went for a swim. A very pleasant day at a leisurely pace.
