Wild Iris Ridge

Thursday, May 18, 2017
Leader: Chris Stockdale
Dog Hike: 2.5 miles, 300 ft (Easy)

No whining or fighting marred the inaugural dog hike. The dogs were well behaved too!

Five dogs and their owners, plus one hiker who came without a 4-legged friend but wanted to hike with us on beautiful Wild Iris Ridge, enjoyed wonderful weather. The irises were in full bloom along with lupins and other wild flowers. The Ridge offers great views toward the west, including Fern Ridge Lake, and also views of Spencer Butte. This is a Eugene park that most people have never heard of so few others are encountered on a hike there.

The consensus of the group was that we want to have more dog-friendly hikes, perhaps further out of town. Please consider leading such a hike this summer.

Members: Chris Stockdale, Diane Schechter, John Cooper, Marlene Drescher. Nonmembers: Paul Flashenberg.
