A larger group turned into a smaller group by Friday evening. I suppose folks were concerned that it might rain. BUT it was a day of mixed clouds and sunshine. We set out at 9 am at a brisk pace suitable to all. We were rewarded by that earthy smell that Fall brings, along with pleasant views of golden reddish huckleberry bushes. No dust. No bugs, No sweat. Everyone stopped at Karen lake for snacks and then continued on to Lils Lake for lunch. The sun sparkled off of the water.. At the PCT, we looked back at Diamond Peak in all her snow covered glory. The return route goes by Hidden and Arrowhead Lakes along with several unnamed lakes and ponds. The next time hikers will probably be gliding down this trail on skis instead of walking. As we piled into the car and drove away, the rain started. Perfect.Members: Jan Anselmo, Richard Anselmo, Chris Stockdale. Nonmembers: Andrew McIvor.
