After days of rain, we were thrilled with our sunny beach walk on the 804 Trail. We were greeted by thousands of mole crabs hunkering together or digging in the undulating sand depressions (inverted snow moguls) filled with water. The sandpipers were cheerful diners of this tasty morsel. We paid tribute to Obsidian member, Charlotte Mills who died on Earth Day and was an instrumental member of the "Friends of the 804 Trail,” spearheading court battles for public ownership of the historic coast trail. For future reference, we left Target at 8:00 and arrived at Smelt Sands State Park at 9:45 to organize the shuttle to Patterson State Park. We started our beach walk around 10:30 and were at Tillicum State Park at 11:30 for lunch.Members: Jacobsen, Janet, Johnson, Steven, Johnson, Ellen, Cooney, Marguerite, Masin, Rachelle, Whitfield, Nancy, Hougardy, Mark, Hougardy, Christiane, Hougardy, Anna, James, Daphne, Larsen, Sandra, Ewing, Joella.
