Weather forecast predicted heavy winds and yes, they were right.
We started hiking in 20 MPH and according to local website finished our trek with 26 MPH North gust. Everybody managed 4 barefoot miles just right, staying somewhat closer to the ocean when it was wet, compacted sand easier on our feet.
At the end of the hike Vicky sang her song she wrote years ago:
I've got sand in my toes,
I've got sand in my nose,
I've got sand all over even in my pantyhose,
I've got sand in my hair,
I've got sand in my shoes,
And that's why I'm singing "The Sand Dune Blues".
By 1 PM our happy group were back to 83°F Eugene.
Thanks everybody for making first Obsidian barefoot hike fun and enjoyable.Members: Darko Sojak, Kathy Randall, Noah Lee, Jane Hackett, Keiko Bryan, Holger Krentz, Patricia Bean, Vicky Hanson.
