South Willamette Trail

Saturday, March 25, 2017
Leader: David Cooper
Hike: 5.4 miles, 1300 ft (Moderate)

Raining as we started and towards the end but not bad in between. The spring rains had left many sections muddy. It was a good day for finding mushrooms and seeing some of the early spring flowers. Our last stream crossing at North Creek was a little different. With a lot of water flowing, the usual quick stone step through creek was really not the best choice. Fortunately, just a few feet from the standard crossing were some downed trees in the creek. A relatively easy crossing and we were soon at the Eula Ridge Trailhead where cars had been left to take us back the the Hardesty Area parking lot.

Members: David Cooper, Carla Cooper, Noah Lee, David Lodeesen, Joel Greer, Esme Greer, Marguerite Cooney, Holger Krentz, Darko Sojak, Rebecca Eastwood, Brad Bennett. Nonmembers: Leigh Williams.
