Coyote Creek

Saturday, May 6, 2017
Leader: Lana Lindstrom
Kayak: (Easy)

It was cool, but sunny - perfect paddling weather! We started by paddling upstream on Coyote Creek, but unfortunately, due to a downed tree, were only able to go for approximately 15 minutes. Hopefully, one of these days, someone will bring a chain saw and cut part of it - there is a significant amount of delightful water beyond it! The water level was the highest I have ever seen; we really had to bend over to get underneath the railroad bridge. We didn't see any mammals, but enjoyed admiring an immature bald eagle, purple martins, swallows, egrets, grebes, great blue herons, and a few songbirds.

Members: Lana Lindstrom, John Cooper, Holger Krentz, Steven Johnson, Mari Baldwin. Nonmembers: Alice Krentz, Tamara Johnson.
