Tire Mountain

Sunday, June 2, 2013
Leader: Chris Stockdale
Hike: 7.6 miles, 800 ft (Moderate)

The promised sunshine took its time to make an appearance although the swirling mists and drops of condensation falling from the trees did not detract from the beauty of this trail. Numerous flowers were beginning to bloom, including trillium, fawn lily, plectritis, larkspur, indian paint brush, balsam arrowroot and others. The temperature on top of Tire Mountain was warm enough for the group to linger over lunch before heading back to the cars. Finally the sun showed up and we were treated to great views of Diamond Peak. Thanks to Lyndell, Joe and Betty for driving.

Members: Chris Stockdale, Chris Shuraleff, Charlie Van Deusen, Joe Sanders, Jan Anselmo, May Fogg, Lynda Christiansen, Betty Grant, Dan Christensen, Lyndell Wilken. Nonmembers: Juliana Cichy, Becca Puleo, Malissa Bare.
