Wednesday, May 1, 2013
Leader: Janet Jacobsen
Hike: 6 miles, 1300 ft (Moderate)

Three people were on top of the Spence Butte in one hour and 20 minutes. The rest of us joined them ten minutes later. Stephanie just moved to Eugene and it was her first time on the Butte. We named all of the snow capped mountains along with warnings about poison oak. New flowers identified were fringe cup, upside down flower, wild strawberry, Forget Me Nots, and one yellow bell lily. Several dogwood trees in the drainage are on the Headwaters Trail showed off a stunning flower display. We were back at the cars at 11:50.

Members: Janet Jacobsen, May Fogg, Dick Hildreth, Lana Lindstrom, Brad Bennett. Nonmembers: Stephanie Hamington, Jake (Gail) Bradshaw.
