Parvin Covered Bridge

Friday, June 7, 2013
Leader: Patricia Esch
Bike: 25 miles, 250 ft (Moderate)

We had sunny weather for our ride, and a little too warm down in the Middle Fork valley away from the breeze. There was very little traffic so we could enjoy looking around. Lots of roadside poppies, but no oreo cows in sight. After crossing Hwy 58 and going though Dexter, we zipped down Parvin Road and at the bottom got a good view of the infamous Parvin Butte with a crane on top. The covered bridge, our first goal, was impressive and still looking new with Anthony Creek babbling below. We returned to Elijah Bristow Park, our second goal, and had a relaxed lunch. The guys sunbathed and the gals sat around the picnic table and talked. After puffing up the hill that had been so much fun to ride down at the beginning, we finished our ride in Pleasant Hill.
