Long Tom Grange

Friday, April 12, 2013
Leader: Patricia Esch
Bike: 26 miles, 150 ft (Moderate)

We had chilly weather because of a cold breeze, but no rain. Riding kept us warm. There was very little traffic on Ferguson Road and there were still some late daffodils. An occasional wild iris made a nice spot of alternate color, and three wild turkeys and one deer put in an appearance. The Long Tom Grange looked pretty quiet after the Daffodil Festival. I heard a rumor that they didn't have any cinnamon buns. Is that possible?! At the end of Ferguson Road, where it turns to gravel and crosses Ferguson Creek, we had lunch. We kept warm eating cookies I provided because it was my birthday and by singing Happy Birthday with vigor. There was a little more traffic on the way back through the bucolic countryside.
