Our route included the Masonic Cemetery, Obsidian Lodge, the Ribbon Trail, Hendricks Park trails, and finally down past Washington Park to the Y. Thanks to Julie Dorland' s Run Detail App, we knew that we had hiked 6.5 miles with 722 ft. elevation gain and that we were definitely ready for chili. Dave Wagenheim, owner of the Viva! Vegetarian Grill, helped 11 hikers celebrate National Chili Day with his homemade chili at his YMCA Café. We recommend the hardy 8 oz bowl of chili ($3.50) that is available on week-days at the Y and also at his Viva food cart on Willamette.
