Youngs Rock

March 27, 2010

It rained Tuesday through Friday before the hike. The sun shone super the day of the hike. The next day it started raining again; there is a hiking God. Five black tailed deer were spotted, plus lots of various scat. The lower trail was muddy in spots. The middle trail was clear. Snow was on the upper trail to about a depth of six inches at Young's Rock. Danni, a friend of Lainey, is helping her get in shape to climb middle Sister this summer. Today's trip was the most elevation gain ever for Lainey, who did very well. All of us exerted good energy, for, if I may so, a superb outing. Non-member Lainey Cornell joined members Sue Meyers, Danni Harris and Chuck Wagar.
