Sweet & Beaver Creeks

February 14, 2010

Geared up for a monsoon, we hiked the Sweet creek and Beaver Creek trails in beautiful dry weather. The creeks were properly swollen with recent rains and the falls were grand as always. The trails are in pretty good shape with a few short muddy spots. The rocky sections were slippery with fat carpets of moss. Wildflower lovers be aware that spring is about to pop on these trails. We saw a few salmonberry and plum blossoms already bursting forth. A trip to AlphaBit was rewarding and Tom took home Marionberry pie for his Valentine, waiting at home. Our two nonmembers, Joey Curtin and Richard McGuinness, eagerly took home membership forms. Members Randy Sinnott, Pat Esch, Norma Lockyear, Tom Adamcyk and Barb Revere tried to answer all their questions and more. We look forward to seeing them again. Thanks to Pat Esch for driving.
