JoAnn Lake

February 6, 2010

Just the two of us. I haven’t had much luck with interest in a snowshoe that is over six miles. Like most trips this winter we started in a fine rain. By the time we got to 5700' the snow was great for this winter anyway. Two foot base with six inches of fresh snow. Solitude was nice. The Waldo snow park is really just the road plowed. With all the trucks and trailers it was good to be early. At the start the snowmobliers were at it, loud and fast. Nothing like the smell of gasoline in the morning! But we soon separated and enjoyed the day in quiet.

Participants were: Brad Bennett and Scott Hovis, leader.
