Fuji Mountain

July 31, 2010

When we met at LCC it was overcast and misty. Fortunately, when we arrived at Fuji Mountain it was a perfect bluebird sky day; a great day to hike. Eight of us took off on the steep trail, occasionally swatting at mosquitoes. We walked past two nice lakes and then continued to climb through an old forest. Where the sun broke though areas in the forest, there were a lot of lupine in bloom and big bunches of bleeding heart. At the top we were pleased to find a 360 degree view of the mountains. We were unable to see Mt. Hood because of a haze on the horizon.

Enjoying the day were non-members: Frank Chemotti, Dalen Willhite, Jeffrey Kornfeld; members: Marianne Camp, Juliana Cichy, Guy Strahon, Judith Terry (leader), and Mel Zavodsky.
