A beautiful day dawned for our hike to the cliff-top viewpoint at Mt.
Patterson and its wonderful views north and east. Many flowers
persisted along the route thanks to our rainy, cool spring. Six
Obsidians made the trip along with aspiring member Juliana Cichy who
completed her second Obsidian hike. She seems to have what it takes for
this club as she virtually stood on her head to photograph a reluctant
tiger lily. Others enjoying this fine Sunday were Ernst Schwintzer, Dick
Hildreth, Daniele Delaby, John Moser and Juan Hopkins. I couldn’t have
asked for better company. This hike is a favorite of mine as the
trailhead is only an hour away so you can visit awesome trees, a
gorgeous meadow, and lunch at an inspiring mountain-top vista yet still
be home in Eugene before 2 p.m.
