Pisgah Sunrise/Moonset

June 26, 2010

Sunrise on Pisgah comes very early in late June. You have to get up about 4 a.m. to be on top to see it. However when I met Sarah Praskieviez at Amazon and we saw the shadow of our earth covering about a third of the visible full moon, I thought this is worth the alarm setting. Then for the rest of the morning, total cloud cover and the waking songs of the early morning birds. It was still worth the alarm.

Hikers were Royal Murdock (leader) and Sarah Praskieviez.
