Sand Mountain Loop
January 25, 2009
After several weeks without fresh snow our group recognized that the
loop around the Little Nash-Sand Mountain area might be a cement-like
skating rink. Fortunately, a bit of snow fell the night before the trip
and more snow arrived during our outing. The result was two to four inches
of fresh powder on top of a firm base. The skiing was surprisingly good
so we rewarded ourselves by extending our trip from 9.5 to 10.5 miles
thus adding some pleasant open tree skiing on a long gentle descent.
Our group for this outing consisted of Sue Wolling, Chrissy Anderson,
Dave Jensen and Sam Miller (leader).
