Mt. Baldy Loop

April 17, 2009

Our loop began with the Amazon Headwaters Trail at the Martin Trailhead and ended with a walk on the Rexius Trail along the Amazon Creek back to our cars. Points in between were Fox Hollow, Dillard, Mt. Baldy, Spring Blvd. and a meadow trail to Old Dillard. We particularly enjoyed the calypso coves on the Amazon Trail. Jan Wulling, a nonmember, sang her version of “On Top of Mt. Baldy all covered with trees.” Jan was familiar with the meadow trail and showed us where a pond with peeping frogs was hidden. At the end of the trip we looked at the ridgeline of trees to see where we had been. Fred Weech, nonmember, commented the loop was an easy way to get mixed up. I had to agree. The trip took 2½ hours.

Janet Jacobsen, leader.
