Alder Springs

September 19-21, 2008

A good place to find solitude. The trail can be steep in areas. Walking sticks are helpful. We carried out a fair amount of trash that others left behind. Quite a bit more needs to be picked up. We went down farther along the Deschutes River, then there was trail, an easy bushwhack you might want to consider. The ford across the creek to the better camp sites is do-able, about 25-feet wide, ankle deep, very cold. The drive in is on some rough dirt roads, but still passable by just about any vehicle, but don’t try and break the sound barrier.

Participants were: Brad Bennett and Scott Hovis, leader.
