Sand Mountain Plateau

January 14, 2007

During the week preceding this trip we were fortunate to have plenty of fresh snow and very cold temperatures at an elevation well below our starting point at Little Nash Sno-Park. The result was “hero” snow as we skied 9.5 miles with ease under sunny skies. The wind chill reminded us why fleece is such a great product while our group was treated to the sight of flocked trees and crystal clear views of Sand Mountain, Mt. Jefferson, Three Fingered Jack, Mt. Washington, and the Sisters. Members sharing this spectacular day were Bob Smythe, Chris Stockdale, Chris Shuraleff, Dave Jensen, Dave Predeek, Sue Wolling, and Sam Miller, leader.
