Potato Hill

January 6, 2007

There was a winter storm warning on the internet sight I visited the day of the trip. Despite this the roads to Potato Hill were doable. The state had done a good job of plowing and sanding. Our group was the first to arrive. So we did a lot of trail breaking in the deep snow. It took longer then anticipated so we shortened our hike. We had a nice view of the valley below but were unable to see the mountains. This area is good for solitude. I think the crowds go to the near by Ray Benson snow park.
