Scott Mountain

August 4, 2007

Since the McKenzie Highway was closed for maintenance, I took the alternate route from the Tenas Lake trail head on the east side of the mountain. The trail gets very little use and for most of the way, it was quite obscured by bear grass. The weather was pleasant and warm, and this route was a good alternative to the usual approach from Scott Lake. All members enjoyed the usual stop at Tenas Lake on the return trip where some engaged in swimming while others cheered them on.

The hikers were members: leader George Baitinger, Dick Hildreth, Elle Weaver, Norma Bengiat, Jim Fritz, Walt Dolliver, Dan Christensen, Barbara Boylan, and nonmembers Caroline Forell, Brad Bennett, and Carol Armstrong.
