Four of us, two members and two prospects left the SEHS parking lot at 8:00 under partly cloudy skies and warm weather. At this time of year there often is a concern about the weather being too hot but today’s hike did not warrant that concern. The weather was beautiful and warm making it a perfect one for a day hike.
Our pace was casual because we were not in a hurry and because we had two newcomers with us. We reached the summit shortly after noon and enjoyed a meal along with the vistas.
I was pleased that we stayed together as a group and the only painful issue associated with the hike was one heel blister that was easily bandaged.
After finishing the hike we discovered that a car battery was dead. We contemplated how to proceed since we were not equipped with jumper cables but the camp host across the road at the Trout Creek Campground came to our rescue.
Hikers were members: Jennifer Baer and Steve Gunn, leader; and nonmembers: Charlene Cummings and Kim Cummings.
