Cottage Grove History walk

June 20, 2007

This delightful walk through a historic neighborhood and small town was enhanced by a soft cloud cover before the sun came out to shine on us. Starting at the library on 7th and Gibbs, then through a charming neighborhood with lovely, blooming gardens and beautiful homes. Then through the Silk Creek park, across the swinging bridge, along the creek and into the downtown to Opal Whitley park. We made a few stops to listen to the history of the homes and area, given by guide Tyler Burgess.

Making a morning outing, we left town at 8:30 a.m. and were back by 11:30 am. Joining the trip were: Barb Bakke, Myron Cook, Sandra Larsen, Ruth Romoser, Dave Wager, Wead Wager and Tyler Burgess, leader.
