Brice CreekMay 20, 2007After a week of pleasant weather our luck ran out and we had a rainy day for hiking. Apparently the rain discouraged some of the people who signed up, so we were left with four hikers who were determined to hike in spite of the weather. The original plan was to do a car shuttle, but with only four hikers it did not make sense to drive two cars when one would do the job. So we chose to start our hike at the lower trailhead and hiked into Lund Park where we stopped for a quick lunch. On the way back to our car the rain let up for a short time so we stopped at a scenic point and enjoyed the beautiful water as it cascaded down into a clear pool. Most of the wildflowers were gone, but there were still numerous patches of pale yellow wild iris, and the white dogwood were at their peak. Enjoying a good workout on a soggy day were Daniele Delaby, Paul Flashenberg, Sally Quigley, and leader Joanne Ledet. |
