Heceta Head/Hobbit TrailMay 13, 2007Another wonderful Mother’s Day at the Coast. Our group of six set out from Washburne Day Parking Area across Highway 101 to do the Washburne loop, then crossed back to do the trail to the Heceta Head lighthouse. The day was mildly cloudy, but perfect hiking weather, and our five hikers and one biker enjoyed a lunch in front of the lighthouse. We then proceeded down the Hobbit Trail to the beach, where we finished up the hike in sunshine and a stiff breeze. Hikers included Anne Dhu McLucas, (leader), Carol Fairbanks, Lee Young (non-member), Mel Zavodsky, and Gail Wahl, as well as mountain-biker Jim Gillette. |
