Tahkenitch Dunes

May 5, 2007

On a pleasant spring day nine adventurous hikers set off for a trip to the coast. The destination was Tahkenitch Dunes trailhead. Wildflowers were in bloom as well as the rhododendrons. We enjoyed our lunch on the beach with sunshine and no wind. The round trip back over the dunes took us to Threemile Lake. There we had time to absorb the serenity of this remote area. As we entered the forest we soon broke off a sword fern fanning ourselves. This was either from the heat or mosquitos, I’ll let you guess which. No one complained as it was too nice of a day to let anything bother our good moods.

Hikers were: Max Brown, Barbara Bruns, Daniele Delaby, Joella Ewing, Sachiko Iwasaki, Doris Jones Robert Jones, Pat Hutchins and Marianne Camp, leader
