Three Fingered JackAugust 18, 2007The forecast was for 20% chance of showers, but we fortunately never even got sprinkled on. It was a cool day for mid-August with considerable cloudiness, but opened up enough while we were on the summit to give us some nice views. Low visibility while climbing the ridge made route finding a challenge. We made good use of the club’s 60 m rope to protect all the way from the start of the crawl to just below the saddle. The only other party on the mountain that day were a couple women, one of them Brian’s cousin! Congratulations to Brian and Rich on their first summits of this mountain, and to Mychael for his first trip with the club (he had already summited Jack two times before.) Many thanks to all climbers for their help, especially my assistant, Doug. Climbers were: Mychael Elias, Brian Hamilton, Doug Nelson, Rich Peevers, and Wayne Deeter, leader.
