Sand Mountain bushwhackMarch 18, 2006The day was partly cloudy with a wind that made you want to keep going. We first went down the South Loop connecter, then West across the road and in to the trees. The snow was kind of strange as it had good hard places and soft powder in other places. It wasn't the fastest trip with those conditions. We got out to almost the bottom of the mountain but there were lots of snow mobiles and the noise was bad, so we started back and stopped on the way back for a break. After the break we skied all the way to the car. By now the wind was getting strong, and the snow conditions were getting poorer. We were happy to get out of there.
