Fawn LakeFebruary 4, 2006When a winter storm was forecast for the day, several people cancelled. That left six of us at the LCC parking lot. When no one else besides me would drive, Nancy Whitfield and Suzanne Steussy volunteered to not go. Thanks and apologies to Nancy and Suzanne. The remaining four were Dave Jensen, Sue Wolling, non-member Art Souther and Bob Huntley. We went over Willamette Pass without having to chain up. There was plenty of snow at the Crescent Lake Sno Park. As we climbed there was so much new snow at the upper elevations that we were unable to follow the old ski tracks. There are no blue diamonds. Not having a GPS and a good fix on our location, we decided to have lunch and follow our tracks back to the car. Driving home, we hit a serious snow storm at the pass and put chains on to get down the mountains. Thank you Sue for breaking trail! Members: Bob Huntley, Dave Jensen and Sue Wolling. Nonmembers: Art Souther. |
