Cemetery Walk

October 22, 2006

Barbara Morgan and I began at the Amazon parking lot and headed south. We veered off to the west to head up a “secret” path that wound up to our first cemetery where we had beautiful views to the north of Eugene dressed in its Fall glory. Upon hiking to the other side of the cemetery, we went by another “secret” path that took us past an inquisitive goat before we got to a street to that led us up the hill then down to our second cemetery. This time we had a great view of the east hills as we hiked down to Willamette Street. We crossed Willamette and headed east before turning north to the third cemetery. We paused for a brief lunch on a very cold bench as we ate among the tomb stones. After lunch we continued north to the campus cemetery before heading back to parking lot. On the way to the lot Barbara got entranced with a house that was being relocated so she paused to observe the goings on. It was a beautiful sunny Fall walk. —Janet Hall, leader.
