Marcola Bike Ride

July 16, 2006

It was a dark and gloomy night (just kidding). It turned out to be a perfect day for a 16.5 mile bike ride (sunny, calm, and about 68-70 degrees). Four people turned out for the ride — three Obsidian members: Guy Strahon (leader), Judy Terry (co-leader), Virginia Rice, and non-member: Fran Nearing. We rode by the Springfield golf course and saw a deer along the way. We stopped at the Mohawk General Store for water and a snack when two non-members ( Art Sather and Lloyd McEntire), who had signed up, joined us for the remainder of the ride. They had misunderstood our starting location. Judy and I had ridden with them the day before on the Obsidian Scio Covered Bridges bike ride.

With the completion of the ride both Art Sather and Fran Nearing had finished their third Obsidian event and will apply for membership. It was an enjoyable ride with very pleasant company as always.
