Koosah Sahalie Loop

May 21, 2006

Sunday May 21 eleven hikers headed up to the Falls. Parking at Koosah, we immediately heard the roar of the Falls that signaled that we were indeed there at peak time. The water burst over the falls with a show of aqua marine color. This color reappeared numerous times not only in the falls, but in the cascading river. As we headed upriver we were taken with the views both large and small. Wild flowers were also appreciated. Crossing at the upriver bridge a light rain began to fall. Lunch time found us just above Sahalie Falls sitting under trees for shelter. We finished our short lunch as the sun came out enough to shine on Sahalie Falls. We carefully found ourselves viewing on the edge looking down to the pool below. Even after we turned around at Carmen reservoir heading towards our start we continued to have stunning views of the river. Back at the cars we had completed this leisurely walk in just over two hours. On the hike were Julie Dorland, Sherwood Jefferies, Jim Floyd, Kathleen Floyd, Becky Lipton, John Lee, Barb Revere, Bob Freed, Valentina Radchenko, Kathleen Cooper, and John Cooper, leader.
