Spencer ButteApril 28, 2006It was a beautiful sunny day for the two hour hike to the top of Spencer Butte via the Amazon Headwaters trail. Trilliums and calypso orchids were in the last stages of their bloom while shooting stars, irises, bleeding hearts, and camas lilies were at their peak. Even with the haze, we could see the snow capped mountains. On the way back, we saw three flowering dogwood trees on the other side of the creek. Nola Nelson and Sue Meyers were happy to discover such a convenient forested hike so close to the city. Members: Janet Jacobsen (leader), Sue Meyers and Nola Nelson. |
